PHP works well in Windows platform and I use this for development but finally it runs on Linux server on the Internet. Which platform you are using?

PHP is a part of LAMP ( Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) family. This combination is most popular in the web. Many sites are running under this combination. We all know that PHP runs well in any other platform including Windows. In old days I used PHP in my PWS (Personal Web Server ) and then without any problem shifted to Apache. Now I am using PHP in windows platform along with Apache web server. In my other PC on Windows XP I am running PHP with IIS ( Internet Information Server). I don’t face any problem in shifting PHP code from one PC to other. PHP is quite stable in all the platforms. All my PHP codes runs under Linux platform in Internet. This web site is also using LAMP.

 Darlene,
There is a great Apache/Php/Mysql automatic installer for developing in Windows XP. It sets up the server for you and configures all the essential settings itself and you are ready to work and develp code in 5 minutes. Here is the link: www.firepages.com.au/
